Bombay to Goa...

I was 15 years old & of the same age, we were gangs of 8-10 boys in Kailash Nagar. My best pals were Bachu, Kaushal Mehta, Jignesh Mehta, Raju, Lendi, Manish Kale, Tobu, Lalu & Paras. I had been always close to all of them, share a good repo with them, always ready to forfeiture & put my feet down to help them, even by going out of the way. Positive attitude of mine has made more loyal to each other.
It was August’ 1989’s, one day during raining season, while playing cricket, we thought of going to small vacation.  After through discussion, final attendees & enquiry from sources, we decided to go our dream destination-GOA.

Being 15 years old, I definitely fantasies of staying on Calangute beach as it was well know as haven for the hippies who discovered this beach in the late 70s & also the exquisite beauty of the Calangute beach bringing hordes of foreign tourists from all over world to Goa. We made final plan to reach there for spending our vacation soaked in the serenity of the sea, monsoon, sand & drinks. Being a teenage, we were all very excited about tourist women sunbathing and swimming was still allowed on Calangute. Those foreigners with a yen for this kind of things gravitated us there like flies to honey.
We booked Hotel & the bus ticket from Manish Travel, Kandivali & Start our journey for Goa. We booked Hotel Reis Magoes, a remote spot, approx 15 KM away from Panjim. I was accompanied by Bachu, Kaushal, Jigu & Raju. Friends in arm, carrying our clothes, Camera, few bucks & dream destination, that’s it. For the 1st time, we started our marching towards our dream vacation spot, that too all alone.
We started our journey at 5pm & in no time, night arrived. In 3x2 luxury buses, I was not very well-fixed my body sleeping in reclining seats but moisture cool air was little helping for me, taking happy naps, in cuts & pieces. Kaushal, Bachu & Jigu were on left side of mine & Raju was my neighbor. All of sudden @ night 2am, Raju whispered something in my ears. I felt like some singing rhymes as his voice was not very clear. His voice was diluted with cold breeze coming from open window of speedy bus. After his perpetual attempt, I woke-up with gujju scurrilous on him & ask him why he woke me up from sweet dream. Holding his center stage from his trouser, he expressed a very strange & unexpected demand from me. “Chetan, I have strong feeling of urinating but shying to inform Driver. If bus won’t wait in a minute then the ocean of urine will flow from my trouser & need to release it ASAP”. Understanding, his pledge, immediately I ran towards Driver’s cabin to request him to stop bus on the spot… but Driver abnegated my unusual bespeak. My warning was inaudible to his deaf ears “Bus nahin roka to mera friend chaddi mein hi SUSU kar lenga”. Being a small boy, I am left with no choice but to return to last seat… Now??? He was in puzzle as everyone in the bus were sleeping & we were laughing & joking on him.. Impotently, He was holding tight as he was worrying if little delay in stopping bus would open his NIAGRA-FALLS from his trouser & we won’t reach to Panjim before 10am. All of sudden, my evil thought knockout heaven’s door for him as I gave him 2 OPTIONS (1)pass urine in plastic bag or (2) pass urine from open window. Since we were sitting on 2nd last seat so let others taste nectar-A tasteless liquid secretion that is attractive to pollinators. With no time drop, I made Kangaroo-womb from my t-shirt & ask Kaushal to drop all the banana wafers to emptied plastic bag & hand-over the same to Raju. Finally, showing his back to us, he relives his chemicals in just 2 minute. During entire job completion, word left “Wow, got a relief…..” & for entire screening, we were left with huge laughing like a mad man. Our terrible laugh made some of the passengers fired at us. We reached to Panjim on 11am & Raju was wearing the same trouser – nectar sprinkled ….& none of us were bother of the same.

This was life of teenaged, we spend together. As a friend, keeping shoulder-to-shoulders, we had fight back all nods, we were carrying our friendship together, we never became older – Till today, when we meet on occasions, we do hug, remember our past & enjoy as if we were victorious from the world war.

Remembrance of life of teenaged is un-forgettable…..whatever years of age you pass-by…..i wish, I could go back to past…
